I'm Vilde, a queer, documentary wedding photographer based in Oslo. I work with couples who laugh a lot, feel awkward in front of cameras, and want their wedding photos to feel like a memory rather than a magazine shoot. LGBTQ+ couples have been a part of my work from the start, and I'd love to be part of yours.

Norway has been a destination for queer couples from all over the world since same-sex marriage was legalised in 2008. Foreign nationals can get married here, and the process is more straightforward than you might think. Whether you're planning an intimate Oslo city hall wedding, a fjord elopement, or a full celebration with friends and family, Norway tends to deliver on the scenery front.

What to expect from a day with me
I'm not going to spend your wedding asking you to tilt your chin or pretend to look at each other. What I will do is follow you around, stay out of the way, and catch the moments you didn't even notice were happening. The look you gave each other during the ceremony. Your friend ugly-crying in the back row. The quiet two minutes you stole before the reception.
Those are the photos you'll still be looking at in twenty years.

Frequently asked Questions
Is Norway LGBTQ-friendly for weddings?
Yes. Norway has strong legal protections for LGBTQ people, and same-sex couples have had equal marriage rights since 2008. It's a country where you can hold hands on the street without thinking twice about it, and that tends to matter when you're choosing a destination for one of the most important days of your life.
Can same-sex couples from other countries get married in Norway?
Yes. Foreign nationals can legally marry in Norway, including LGBTQ+ couples from countries where that right doesn't yet exist at home. There are some administrative steps involved, but it's very doable. I can help point you in the right direction.
Do you photograph non-binary and transgender couples?
Of course. My work is for anyone getting married, full stop. I use whatever names and pronouns you prefer, and there's nothing you need to explain or justify.
What areas of Norway do you cover?
I'm based in Oslo and cover the surrounding area as standard. For weddings further afield — fjords, the west coast, the north — I travel. Reach out and we'll figure out the logistics together.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as you can. Popular dates, especially in summer, tend to go a year or more in advance. If your date is close, it's still worth getting in touch — I occasionally have availability.
How much does LGBTQ wedding photography in Norway cost?
City Hall packages start at NOK 12,000 for a 60-minute session on Fridays and weekdays, and NOK 14,500 on Saturdays. Both include the ceremony, an outdoor portrait session, and a minimum of 30 edited photos.
For full wedding day coverage, packages start at NOK 29,000 for three hours, going up to NOK 44,000 for a full day with ten hours of coverage, a physical album, and an engagement session included.
Do you speak English?
Yes, fluently enough that we'll never have a problem. I've worked with international couples many times and it's always worked out just fine.
